In this day and age of the internet and social media, there isn’t a straightforward formula to going viral. Starting off by making beats and then writing vocal hooks for artists, Mario Judah suddenly went viral overnight with his song “Die Very Rough,” inspiring an explosion of memes in the process.

Mario Judah centered his music around a hard-hitting beat. Taking inspiration from bands like Breaking Benjamin and Pantera, he crafted his vocal sound.

It’s not an unusual blend of genres – Run DMC and Aerosmith showed the world decades ago that rap and rock go together like peanut butter and jelly. More recently, rappers like Scarlxrd proved you can turn up the rock influences to 11. Mario Judah’s music shows some similarities to the latter, stemming from their inspiration of rock and metal music.
