How pricing works for BandLab albums

BandLab is a prolific community of creators from all over the world. Every day, our community publishes thousands of tracks. Some musicians drop singles made overnight, others bulk-share (via our bulk upload feature) dozens of tracks that they’ve worked on for months.

BandLab Albums is for a new way to share your creativity with the world. Pricing is a feature we’ve introduced as part of Albums, to help you get your work out there.

Choose from two pricing options for your BandLab Albums:

Free and Tip Based.

  • Free: fans can stream your tracks and download bonus materials. You can choose to make tracks downloadable, but they don’t have to be. Fans can also tip you if they’d like. To enable tipping, make sure that your Tip Jar is up and running.

  • Tip Based: fans can stream your tracks, download tracks, and download bonus materials. But they can only do this after sending you a minimum tip. Fans can choose to tip you more if they want to.

Which option is better for me?

It’s really up to you.

Maybe you’re trying to build an audience and just want to share your music with the world. A free album might be the way to go.

But if you want to monetise your work, that’s fine too. The Tip-Based option is also available.

Everything we do at BandLab is about supporting artists, wherever they may be on their journey. BandLab Albums is one more step towards removing the barriers to creativity for music-makers all around the world.

The power’s in your hands. Get out there and make some music!
