This latest enhancement not only allows you to split your audio into six stems, but also lets you use Splitter as a convenient MIDI converter – enabling you to download those stems to your device as editable MIDI files or open them directly in Studio.
Upload these files to your preferred DAW (such as Cakewalk Next, Cakewalk Sonar, or any DAW you like) and make all the adjustments you need – whether it’s swapping out instruments, tweaking rhythms, or experimenting with new ideas. Here’s how to use it!
How to use Splitter as a MIDI converter
Step 1 – Subscribe to BandLab Membership

Step 2 – Launch Splitter
Once you’ve got membership, launch Splitter to start using it as a MIDI converter! Fire it up on the web or, if you’re already working on a track, access it directly from Studio without interrupting your flow. Just click on a region of audio or MIDI and select Splitter from the dropdown menu.
Step 3 – Import your audio file
Then, tap on ‘Import a song’ and select an audio file to split into stems. Choose the number of stems you want to split your track into – this can be as little as two stems (vocals and others) or as many as six stems (vocals, drums, bass, piano, guitar, and others). Once you’ve decided, tap ‘Split’ to continue.
Step 4 – Download your stems as MIDI files
After splitting your audio into stems, just tap ‘Download Stems’ and opt for ‘Download as MIDI.’ Choose the instruments you want from the track list, and click export to download it to your device!
Open it directly in Studio, or load your files in another DAW like Cakewalk to experiment with loads of creative possibilities.

By downloading your stems as MIDI files using Splitter’s new MIDI converter feature, you can easily transfer your ideas between different DAWs.
