If you’ve been building momentum on BandLab, getting that blue verified badge is your next step up. It signals to your fans, collaborators, and the wider music industry that your profile is authentic and established (basically, that you’re the real deal!)
Every application is reviewed manually by BandLab’s curation team, with real people checking your profile, photos, and linked accounts. Because of that, small details matter, and simple mistakes are often what cause rejections. Here’s how to set yourself up for approval.
4 easy steps to get verified on BandLab
1. Get set up with a Pro or Max membership
Verification on BandLab is available exclusively to those with an active membership. It’s a bonus feature for creators who are serious about growing their presence and taking their craft further.
A few important things to keep in mind:
- Your verified badge stays active for as long as your membership is active
- If your subscription expires, the badge is removed shortly after
- You’ll need to resubmit your application once you renew
Having a membership is an important first step, but it’s not the only factor in approval. Here’s what else you’ll need to get right.
2. Use a clear photo of your face
Your BandLab profile picture, and the profile pictures on your linked social accounts, should clearly show your real face. This is because the curation team needs to match the same person across multiple accounts, and a strong, consistent photo makes that immediate and easy.
Go for an image that isn’t blurry, pixelated, or heavily filtered. And try to avoid anything that hides your face, like sunglasses, masks, or shadows.
3. Link your real social accounts
Add your Instagram or TikTok to your BandLab profile and check that all links open properly. Broken or incorrect links can slow down your application, since reviewers need to be able to access your profiles to verify them.
Beyond working links, the accounts you connect need to genuinely belong to you. Every linked social is there to build a picture of your authentic identity, from your music to your activity and your voice. The stronger and more consistent the story across your accounts, the stronger your application.
4. Stay within the community guidelines
Your recent record matters. If your account has an active violation, your application will be rejected. That said, past violations won’t count against you forever. Just make sure your current activity aligns with BandLab’s community guidelines before you hit submit.
And yes, verification can be revoked after the fact if guidelines are violated, or if you frequently change your display name, username, or profile picture. Keeping your identity consistent once you’re verified is key!
Applied to get verified? Here’s what’s next.
Got the four points above covered? You’re in a strong position. Go ahead and hit submit! If there’s anything missing in your review, we’ll make sure to keep you posted so you can try again.
