Vocal presets simplify the process by applying pre-configured effects settings to your vocals, enhancing your sound and ensuring a consistent vibe across tracks. BandLab has over 300 free audio presets you can check out, plus you can save and use presets made by your fellow creators, offering you a diverse range of sounds and inspiration.

How to make a vocal preset
Step 1 – Open your project
Launch BandLab Studio on your web or mobile device and import your selected vocal track. For the best results, use Voice Cleaner to remove any background noise and get your vocals mix-ready.
Step 2 – Add effects
Once you’ve got a clean vocal take, it’s time to start building your vocal preset! Tap on your track and hit the +Fx icon to open the effects library. Then, tap on ‘+ Create New Preset’ on the bottom of the screen. From here, you can add effects like DeEsser, Multi Filter, and more to enhance your vocals. Experiment with different effects to find the perfect combination for your vocal style.
For this track, we’re using Graphic EQ to shape our vocals, reduce muddiness, and bring out the natural tone of our voice. We’re also applying Studio Reverb to give the vocals more depth and space, making them feel fuller and richer in the mix.
Pro tip – If EQ-ing your vocals by ear isn’t cutting it, try using Visual EQ to remove unwanted frequencies in your track with real-time visual feedback. This helps your vocals sit perfectly in the mix and gives your track a polished, professional sound.
Step 3 – Customize
Start adjusting the parameters of each effect to tailor the sound to your liking! Using Graphic EQ, we’re cutting out low frequencies to eliminate muddiness, and giving the midrange a slight boost for added warmth. In the higher midrange, we’re dialing down any harsh tones for smoother vocals and controlling sibilance to keep everything crisp.
With Studio Reverb, we’re creating a sense of space and dimension. The Mix is set to 49% to keep the sound airy yet clear. With the Tone at 64% for extra brightness and Size at 30% for fullness, the track gets enhanced without being overwhelming.

Step 4 – Save and share your preset
Once you’re happy with the sound, save your custom settings as a preset. Tap on the 3-dot icon on the top right of the screen and select ‘Save As’. Give your preset a name so you can easily find and apply it to other tracks or projects in the future. You can even generate a link to your preset and share it with other creators!
