2020: Our Year in Review

BandLab 2020 year in review

2020. What a wild ride it’s been. And to you, who joined us on this incredible journey – you make BandLab what it is today, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

You might be one of the millions who turned to BandLab for the first time to make music during lockdown, or a musician on the hunt to find fellow artists to collaborate with virtually, or an artist who wants to show the world their music. You might be one of our OG user who’s been in it since 2015. You’re all part of the BandLab family. And this family will keep on growing. Strong! 

As this year draws to a close, it’s worth celebrating the many milestones we achieved because of you. 

This is BandLab’s 2020 Year in Review.

You are one of more than 26 million creators making music here!

As early as May this year, BandLab reached 18 million users. That was a whopping 50% increase from January this year! And look where we are today – you are part of a community more than 26 million strong!

Over 100 million tracks were made on BandLab this year!

Talk about prolific! Artists on BandLab really flexed their music making muscles this year – creating close to 10 million tracks a month! That’s around an eye-watering 270,000 tracks everyday! Just think about that.

Hip Hop represent!

Hip Hop creators released the most Albums on BandLab, with Pop and Rock not far behind. 

New features galore

Where do we begin? This year saw us introduce some of our biggest features since day one. BandLab Sounds took our vision of breaking down barriers to making music one step further. Albums gave artists a legitimate way of making money from their music. And there were much more! Here are just some of the top features released this year.

  • Record up to 16 independent tracks on the Mix Editor
  • Track limits have gone up to 15 minutes
  • Collaborate with up to 50 bandmates or users
  • Loops available on the BandLab mobile app on iOS and Android
  • Denoise on the Mix Editor

More Sounds than ever to make music with

BandLab’s web and mobile DAW would be nothing without its samples, Virtual Instruments, and effects. This year, you have more tools than ever at your disposal to make music with. 

  • More than 200 Effects presets
  • More than 250 Virtual Instruments
  • More than 10,0000 Loops and Samples
  • More than 250 Loop Packs, including 16 exclusive artist-created Loop Packs

This year, you showed us how much music you have been making with BandLab’s Loops and samples.

  • 100 million Sound banks downloaded
  • 40 million Loops downloaded
  • More than 1,000,000 new user created presets
